You will be one of the founding members, building Graswald’s web department from the ground up.

As Lead Web Developer, you will lead all of our web and cloud based development projects and operations, especially conceptualising and building our asset delivery and E-Commerce platform.

What you'll achieve

  • You’ll lead for all our web-based projects and activities
  • You’ll be working closely with the CEO, Head of Growth and Head of Engineering, leading the technical product development for the web and ensuring we meet our deadlines and growth targets
  • You’ll help drive product development and customer experience from a technical side of things
  • You’ll lead a small but growing team of developers to build the future features of our web-based SaaS product
  • You’ll setup and optimise our (product) development processes and best practices together with our Head of Engineering
  • You'll set up APIs for the various components of our systems
  • You'll develop and extend our docker-based AWS deployments
  • You'll help build front end components for our 3D asset store
  • You'll develop and implement security best practices
  • You'll integrate the web-based systems with our 3D asset generation pipelines

Skills you’ll need to bring

  • Highly organized and thrives on making order out of chaos
  • 3+ years of experience in working on full-stack web environments, preferably in a fast-paced, SaaS start-up environment
  • Experience of managing a small team of developers and setting up and maintaining development processes and best practices including e.g. version control, code reviews, etc.
  • Experience in working with Typescript/Javascript/Node.js/React-based projects
  • Experience in designing web infrastructure systems and integrating various first- and third-party components
  • “Devops” experience or interest in setting up and deploying components in AWS
  • Working knowledge of component-based Design Systems
  • An owner’s mindset - you can lead through ambiguity and dig into the details to solve. You are not hesitant to tackle and solve problems yourself and lead by example.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English

Bonus Points

  • Background in or understanding of the 3D entertainment industry
  • Interest in technologies of all sorts (e. g. computer vision, ML, etc.) and a way to quickly grasp the essence of new tech
  • Great understanding of SaaS business models and funnels
  • Ability to work from or regularly visit our HQ in Hannover
